Korea 2019 is all done. Here is the 1265km we did !

Jeollanam-do Region

  • Mokpo: The journey likely skirted near Mokpo, a coastal city known for its maritime history, scenic waterfronts, and the Mokpo Marine Cable Car offering panoramic views of the Yellow Sea. Mokpo serves as a gateway to the Dadohae Haesang National Park, with its myriad islands and rich biodiversity.

Gyeongsangnam-do Region

  • Jinju: Approaching or passing near Jinju, you would have been near a city famed for its historic fortresses, such as Jinjuseong Fortress, which played a pivotal role during the Imjin Wars in the 16th century. Jinju is also known for its vibrant lantern festival, reflecting its cultural richness.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Region

  • Andong: This area is known for Andong Hahoe Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site that exemplifies traditional Korean culture and architecture. The village is a testament to Confucian traditions, with beautifully preserved Hanok houses and a serene rural atmosphere.
  • Gyeongju: Gyeongju, once the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom, is a city where you're surrounded by history. Sites like Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and the Gyeongju Historic Areas are within reach, offering insights into South Korea's rich historical and cultural past.

Chungcheongbuk-do Region

  • Danyang: Known for its natural beauty, including the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang. The town is a hub for outdoor activities, nestled among limestone caves, serene lakes, and national parks, making it a haven for nature lovers.

Near Seoul Metropolitan Area

  • Suwon: Close to Seoul, Suwon is famous for the Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that encircles the central area of Suwon. The city blends historical sites with modern culture, offering a unique glimpse into Korea's rapid development.
